Catdoku is a cat-themed puzzle game. It mixes Sudoku-style placement with a rule about distance. Every cat needs a different row, column, and color. They also need personal space around them. One careless click can ruin a good board.
The trick is not to find cats quickly. It is to remove the wrong cells until the right ones become obvious. You can mark bad choices with Xs and build the answer from small clues.
Start with the colored regions. Find one with only one or two possible cells. Check those cells against their rows and columns, then cross out any that conflict.
Next, check the distance rule. A cat blocks nearby cells, including diagonals. After placing one, mark the blocked spaces with X marks.
Then return to the colors. If a region has only one open cell left, place the cat and repeat. Rows and columns work the same way. Keep switching between colors, rows, columns, and nearby cells to reveal the next move.
Leave the difficult area alone. A puzzle does not require you to solve each section in order. Search for another row or region with stronger clues.
Hints are available when you need extra help. Still, try a full scan first. You may have missed one blocked cell or forgotten that diagonal contact is not allowed.
The Biggest Puzzle Trap
The most common mistake is looking at only one rule. A cell may appear perfect because its row is free. It can still fail because its color already has a cat. Another cat may also be sitting diagonally nearby. Check the complete set of rules before every final placement.
